You may be asked to speak for others at work today, but be careful about assuming that everyone's goals are in alignment with yours. The differences may not be apparent at first, but will become obvious once you get into it. Don't take a position that you cannot personally support. You might have to back down as gracefully as possible and let your coworkers fend for themselves.
