Salihah; car accident 27th October 2007

Early in the morning I've received an sms from my 3rd siblings; Ina. An Indian guy (he doesn't want to leave his name) called Ina's mother in law & informed that my mother; mama had an accident. She immediately called mama but it's not her that is involved in the accident but Lihah; my 6th siblings. The caller told her that the accident involved with 3 to 4 cars & Lihah had already been sent to the nearest hospital which is Hospital Batu Gajah.

I called Ina. She sounded like crying. She said we (Ina, her hubby & daughter, me & my hubby & Man, his wife & son) should all go back as soon as possible. I called my hubby & waited him to come back from work. I've packed only a few of our belongings thought that Lihah was not seriously injured (I was wrong though).

I was supposed to handle an advance surprise birthday party for my hubby the next day which is Sunday, 28th October 2007 at One Utama with our closed friends. I've already plan the party before Ramadhan. Thought that we can get together with them but God already plan it ahead of me. As what it always says, kita hanya mampu merancang, Tuhan yang menentukan segalanya.

So I called up everybody to cancelled the party. I also called up Ijat who were getting married that day & apologized for not being able to be there on her wedding day. We haven't seen each other for years (I lost count, seriously) since 1SG's activity to Genting Highlands some years back (totally forgotten when was the actual date. I know it's on Sunday coz we always do most activites on Sunday).

After my hubby came back from work, we ate a little. We went down after Ina sms that she already passed the Shell. In the car, she told us what she heard. There were 3 different stories about Lihah's accident. But I don't really care. I just want to see Lihah & see her with my own eyes than to believe my ears.

We arrived at Batu Gajah around 3pm. Abah told us that Lihah already been sent to Hospital Ipoh. He was informed that the visiting time was from 4.30pm to 7.30pm. Actually on Saturday & Sunday, the visiting time start from 12.30pm to 7.30pm. So we arrived after 4.30pm at Hospital Ipoh. We've been told that she was placed in 7C ICU (Intensive Care Unit) ward which is actually an SCU (Spinal Care Unit) ward.

It's hard to write everything in English. Sigh! To cut the story short; she had an operation to replace her 4th back bone which is totally crushed with a steel & tighten with 8 screws on Tuesday. The operation went on successfully. I've to stay at my hometown & take turns in taking care of her with mama. Mama look out for Lihah from night to morning then I'll take over until mama came back. On Friday around 11am, she undergo a physiotherapy's session. It's hard to express everything in words. She was discharged in the evening.

I've teached mama & Nana how to put on the braces on Lihah & a few things that was told & learned from the doctor, physiotherapist & nurses. I returned to my hubby last week. Although feel awkward, I've still have to fulfill my duties as a wife...
