Stop Blaming Others

If we really want to know who is responsible for the mess we're in, all we have to do is look in the mirror. - H. Ross Perot

All blame is a waste of time. No matter how much fault you find with another, and regardless of how much you blame him, it will not change you. - Wayne Dyer

The superior man blames himself. The inferior man blames others. - Don Shula

When a man points a finger at someone else, he should remember that four of his fingers are pointing at himself. - Louis Nizer

The best years of your life are the ones in which you decide your problems are your own. You do not blame them on your mother, the ecology, or the president. You realize that you control your own destiny. - Albert Ellis

When you plant lettuce, if it does not grow well, you don't blame the lettuce. You look for reasons it is not doing well. It may need fertilizer, or more water, or less sun. You never blame the lettuce. Yet if we have problems with our friends or family, we blame the other person. But if we know how to take care of them, they will grow well, like the lettuce. Blaming has no positive effect at all, nor does trying to persuade using reason and arguments. That is my experience. No blame, no reasoning, no argument, just understanding. - Thich Nhat Hahn

  1. Great post. In the age of deferring accountability, I agree it's time we stopped admiring the Lohan's and Hilton's who can't accept responsibility for their actions. It's led to a culture where politicians and everyday people alike don't have to be held responsible for their actions.

Nice to see someone still has their head on straight!
