You may be unhappy if someone bullies you today, yet you might not be that comfortable defending yourself. It could be easier now to hide your anger than to confront the source of the problem. But this is not an act of cowardice. Your self-restraint is wise and your discretion is honorable, for you might lose control and inflict more damage than you intend if you decided to fight back.
