You catch on to new ideas very quickly today, perhaps because you are so eager to broaden your horizons. Oftentimes you are quite satisfied maintaining a comfortable and defensible position, but now you are confident enough to want more. What you learn doesn't have to contradict your philosophical foundation. It can build on what you already know.
