Your friends may be a destabilizing force in your life now. Although they could initiate great fun, you'll need to be willing to pay the price for your little escapade. Leaving your chores before they are finished today means that you'll still have to complete them later on. Of course it makes more sense to fulfill your obligations first. But if you decide to play with your buddies instead, don't complain if you find yourself working in the evening.
